Our Story

The story of how Rival Cutouts came to be starts back in 2010.  Larry Carpenter is a father of three very active girls.  Whether standing in the rain during a soccer game or traveling a hundred miles for a cheer leading competition, Larry never misses an event.  He was looking for a unique way of showing his support for his girls and came up with the idea of apply a photo of his girls to a piece of acrylic and creating a unique button that doesn’t poke holes in clothing.  People took notice and lined up to order their own.  Larry was able to take this idea grow it into a new company named Custom Cutouts, a company which specializes in unique ways of taking your family photos and creating a life-like statue.

In February of 2016, Larry saw some of artwork on social media and was impressed enough to contact the artist, a freelance illustrator Jason McCorkle founder and owner of The Moving Pencil.  Larry commissioned a custom illustration which he then turned into a wall mount.  After sending a sample to Jason, a few weeks later they decided to work to together to create unique sports related cutouts for sports fans every where!  Boom, Rival Cutouts was born.
